No question mark over the success of organ concerts

The series of concerts in All Saint’s Church, Hastings came to a splendid conclusion last Monday.

It was feared that the torrential rain all day would deter people from turning out. Not a bit of it !!

Maestro Dr. Gordon Stewart, who has played in every one of the 26 years that the series has been running, gave a wonderfully varied programme on the Historic Father Willis Organ.

His encore was based on a Scottish folk tune, “Will ye no come back again?” Yes he will return next year.

The 2015 series will begin on 6th July.

A fund for the refurbishment of this wonderful old instrument has been launched. The Priest in Charge of the Old Town Parishes has organised a silent auction, and fund raising will be on-going now. If any organ lovers would like to be part of this effort, please get in touch.

As series co-ordinator, I would like to thank all the many people who have helped to make the concerts such a success. Marion Lovell
