Oh Grandad!

Alright then Grandad, off we go; Ill knot this string through mine

And if we've got enough of them, let's play the best of nine.

But after that, if you don't mind, I'd like to go 'on-line'.

Son, I won these lovely marbles rolling them along the ground.

Let's get in some practise now, as I have always found

It makes for being perfect, and you'll be the best around.

Grandad, first I'd like to show you the latest D.V.D.

It's my favourite Harry Potter, which you really have to see;

So please close your bag of marbles and come along with me.

Lad, see these cigarette cards, by the dozen that I won,

By flicking them against a wall '“ we had tremendous fun

Toppling down the propped up card. Oh the magic that we spun.

If you're talking magic Grandad, then let's go surf the net.

Mum let's me play an hour a day; the fun and laughs we get.

Why don't you get connected '“ you will love it too, I'll bet.

You know my boy, maybe you're right '“ a challenge, something new

And if I learn quite quickly, I may soon catch up with you.

What's on the mat; a mouse you say; then show me what to do.

Well Grandad thanks for playing and I'm sorry it's so late.

See you next time on my birthday '“ wow! I can hardly wait.

I'll be seven in year two, then in the third year I'll be eight!
