‘One of Britain’s finest pianists’

Pianist Lucy Parham joins the Guildford Philharmonic Orchestra for an evening of romantic music in Holy Trinity Church, Guildford at Friday, January 27 at 7.30pm.

Lucy Parham first came to public attention as the Piano Winner of the 1984 BBC TV Young Musician of the Year, since when she has performed extensively throughout the UK and Europe, South Africa, USA, Canada and Russia.

Spokeswoman Nicola Goold said: “As well as being one of Britain’s finest pianists, Lucy is also a world expert on Schumann, and at this concert she will be performing one of the most famous and romantic virtuosic concertos – Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor.

“Lucy is well known to Guildford audiences through her Guildhall recitals. In fact, Lucy’s first concerto appearance thirty years ago, was in Holy Trinity Church performing the Schumann concerto.

“The programme also includes Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony and the concert will be conducted by the charismatic Stephen Bell.”
