The idea is to exhibit more of their work outside the camera club. They will be holding their first exhibition at the Oxmarket Centre of Arts, East Street, Chichester, from October 7-12, 10am-4pm, free admission – in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Taking part are Anna Walls, Joy Whiting, Sheila Tester, Cathy Hughes, Peter Rocchiccioli, Peter King, Stephen Marsh, Nina Borowsky and Liz Reynolds.

Spokeswoman Cath Goirs said: “Out of Focus is a bit of play on the fact that there is already a Focus Group who exhibit yearly, so it actually has nothing to do with any of the images being out of focus! The group also thought it would be a phrase remembered
by people.”

Kath added: “Chichester Camera Club has a strong connection with St Wilfrid’s Hospice supplying them with a series of constantly-changing images to decorate the walls, as well as photographs for some greetings cards and calendars.

“The nine members are Joy, who has years of photography experience with interesting and alternative ways of mounting images; Anna, who is experimenting with unusual night photography; Sheila, who has just produced some images from a different way of using the camera; Cathy, who has recently gained an Associateship with the Royal Photographic Society with an artistic approach to butterflies; Peter R who obtained a first honours degree in photography and will be exhibiting photography with a story line; Peter K another member of the school that will be showing alternative ways of mounting; Stephen, who is extremely interested in all types of art will be showing his interpretations; Nina, with her take and interest in the photography she produces, and Liz, who will be exhibiting her bead jewellery, rather than images.

“The group will be producing a wide range of work, hopefully catering for all ages, agenda and preferences. All the work will be for sale with a percentage going to St Wilfrid’s Hospice.”
