Poetry, music and readings at cinema

A monthly series of readings, talks and performances at the Electric Palace cinema in Hastings Old Town kicks off from Wednesday (February 19).

The Reality Street Live series features authors, together with guest writers, musicians and artists.

Star of the show on Wednesday is Philip Terry, author of Tapestry, an extraordinary novel retelling the story of the Norman Conquest from the view of the Bayeux Tapestry’s English embroiderers. He will read from the novel and from other recent work. Also on the bill is Ken Edwards, Reality Street’s publisher, who will read from his collection of fictions Down With Beauty and, together with Elaine Edwards on flute and accordion, perform an adapatation of his prose poem Bardo. Ken and Elaine are also co-founders of band The Moors.
