Police welcome a good start to Wild Life Festival

The force has hailed the day as a success, with very minor instances of antisocial behaviour taking place at the venue, inside the grounds of Shoreham Airport.
A police spokesman thanked the public for its patience and added that the festival ‘passed off in a largely warm and pleasant atmosphere, matched perfectly by the weather’.

All were excluded, so forfeiting the cost of their tickets.
With the festival continuing today and another 35,000 fans expected on site, Superintendent Jim Bartlett, was pleased.
He said: “We’ve worked closely with the event organisers to take positive action against people attending in possession of drugs or intent on causing trouble.
“As well as being dealt with by the police they will also be excluded and removed from the event by the organisers.

“We are looking forward to people watching Sunday’s bands in a similarly safe and sensible manner.”
Officers will once again be out in force checking festival goers at the main entrances of the event.
They will be using specially trained dogs to sniff out drugs.
All those found with illegal substances on them could face arrest and ejection from the music festival.

Today is expected to see temperatures hit about 18 deg C.
