Hannah said of her jaunt: “I once performed with my music box for a whole day inside a red telephone box - this time I thought it would be fun to take it to the individual stores for Record Store Day. Being from the North, I don’t have any childhood connections to the South East but every time I’ve done a show there, it’s been one of the best... everyone has said I’m mad, but it’s an adventure.”

Benedict Benjamin is Ben Rubinstein, formerly of The Mariner’s Children and Peggy Sue (Wichita), first and foremost a songwriter versed in the classical traditions of the form, capable of crafting both operatic crescendo and lullabylike stillness shot through with the heartbreaking swoon. His songs undercut the dreamlike beauty of early 60s pop music with lyrics both frank and poetic, creating a powerful Lynchian duality that makes the heart swell and the head spin.

Also playing will be William The Conqueror, headed by a Ruarri Joseph, who is also a treasure of the folk circuit, but leading this double life musically. He said: “I want people to hear the stories from a different perspective. After three years of keeping William in the dark, I want to switch things up. Ruarri can go off the radar it’s William’s turn now.”

Bursting with retro-infused energy, there are a myriad influences, underpinned by a taste for good, old-fashioned roots. One minute it’s a hushed JJ Cale that somehow finds its way to an angry Jim Morrison or a late-70s Dylan; the next it’s a grunge era Pearl Jam via Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits. Simply put this is real, original music.
