One of the best-selling recording artists of the 1960s, Fury enjoyed a string of hit singles totalling a remarkable 332 weeks in the British charts.

He equalled The Beatles record of 24 hits in the 1960s. In the sixties Billy Fury had more Decca hits than any other artist including the Rolling Stones. Health problems since childhood led to the singer’s untimely death on January 28, 1983 aged just 42. The Billy Fury Years sees Michael King and his fantastic collection of musicians take the audience on a journey through the star’s musical career. The whole show is further enhanced by fantastic audio and video effects plus various costume changes depicting the ever changing image and face of the Fury phenomenon. Billy Fury was born Ronald William Wycherley in Liverpool on the April 17, 1940. He was an internationally successful British pop singer from the late 1950s to the early 1960s and remained an active songwriter until the 1980s. Widely regarded by many as the foremost rock ‘n’ roller the UK has ever produced. Such is his popularity that in 2007 a bronze statue of Billy was unveiled at the Albert Dock in Liverpool and more recently in 2011, Billy Fury Way was opened in London. The show starts at 7.30pm.
