REVIEW: This version of Grease is The One That I want!

We all know the story: Danny (played by Danny Bayne) meets Sandy ( Carina Gillespie) , they fall out, Sandy changes more or less everything about herself, they get back together and they all live happily ever after!

Since the 1978 film, the general public has been bursting to see the 2012 tour of Grease, going along for a night of fantastic acting and a chance to sing along to the Grease favorites including Summer Nights, You’re the one that I want and, my personal favorite, Grease Lightening.

As with many musical theatre productions, the cast perform especially well as one. The consistent energy shown throughout was a pleasure to watch. It was a real treat to see Robin Cousins shine as The Teen Angel, although the Angel is a secondary character, he by far got the biggest applause.

The highlight of the show had to be Greased Lightning, simply due to the fact it was led by Kenickie, played by Ricky Rojas. He simply had the best vocals and in my opinion couldn’t have been cast any better.

If you’re a fan of the film, if you’re a fan of Robin Cousins, I urge you to see this incredible show. It will have you tapping your feet, singing along and wanting to jump up on stage and join in. Don’t miss out!
