Reviving magic of Jimi Hendrix

John Campbell tries to measure up to the legend with his Are You Experienced? Hendrix tribute heading for Southsea’s Kings Theatre on Saturday, July 23.

Promoter Janine Barker promised: “The guitar work is note perfect and at the same time beautifully fluent.

“The voice is Hendrix, and the persona of the man himself is on the stage, personified by John Campbell, who bears a striking physical resemblance to Jimi, and who replicates all the famous stage antics, including playing the guitar with his teeth and behind his head.

“John founded Are You Experienced? ten years ago, and together with bass guitarist, Mark Arnold, and drummer, Kevin O’Grady, they have played throughout Europe and Dubai, as well as constantly touring in the UK.”
