Royal British Legion Women's Section Little Common Branch

THE vice-chairman welcomed 67 members and one visitors to the January meeting.

She asked us to remember all troops who had died in the conflicts this past year and also Mrs Joyce Griggs, Mrs Pam Philby and Jim Watchhorn, husband of Lisa, who was past president of the section.

Members were informed we had been very successful at the County Conference, winning first for Daphne Tebbs' secretary's report; first for a good idea (which was sending filled shoe boxes to our troops abroad); a second for increased membership and a third for a fun-time photograph.

Dates for forthcoming events were given and there was one single room left for the holiday on the Isle of Wight.

Daphne Tebbs gave a concise and interesting report on the County Conference and the evening finished with a talk and slides on the restoration of the old mill at Mill House; a fantastic project which will ultimately, hopefully, have the mill grinding again.

New members are always welcome on the second Wednesday of the month at the Royal British Legion Club at Meads Avenue, Little Common, at 7pm. Do join us!
