Sainsburys Bexhill and District Veterans Association - June 6

THE chairman who welcomed the members on a glorious sunny afternoon opened the May meeting. He announced the times for the pick up points for the annual Mystery Tour, and for the chairman's barbecue. The ramble for the fitter members has been arranged for 2pm at the Seven Sisters near Seaford on June 19.

He introduced the speakers for the afternoon, who were from the Bexhill branch of the Citizens Advice Bureau.

They gave an in depth talk on the bureaux from their formation in 1939 up to the present day, explaining the various changes and how they are funded and staffed. They also explained what they could now give advice on and that they never turned or refused advice to anybody. The next bowls afternoon is on June 5 at Ravenside at 2pm, all are welcome.

The next meeting is on June 12 at the St Peter's Community Centre and will be the annual meeting so bring your ideas for Your Club for speakers and days out.
