Shrewd to catch crowd puller

DRAMATIC, clear and accessible will once again be the watchwords for Rainbow Shakespeare as it launches its 11th season in Worthing. Once again it will be offering a Shakespeare double bill in Highdown Gardens, prior to a tour.

And, once again, it will be Shakespeare with a very direct appeal, promises company regular Ross Muir who will feature in both the productions.

The Merchant Of Venice runs from Tuesday July 8 to Sunday July 13 and The Taming Of The Shrew from Tuesday July 15-Sunday July 20 (tickets on 01903 206206 or www.worthingtheatres.co.uk)

As Ross explains, the company was set up by Nicolas and Alex Young.

"It all stemmed from the fact that they wanted to do Shakespeare productions that were understandable and accessible for all the family but without dumbing the Shakespeare down, but still making it exciting and well told and using actors from our schools tours that understand the need to perform in a way that is strong and with clear communication skills."
