STORYTELLING: Wick welcomes Johnny Gillett to tell Bible stories

A STORYTELLING session of biblical proportions will soon be coming to Wick.

After decades of working with churches from across the globe, former Littlehampton man, Johnny Gillett, will be bringing his innovative storytelling workshop to the area, next month.

Entitled “Off the Page”, the session will focus on telling some of the greatest stories from the Bible in an entertaining and informative way.

Johnny, who in recent months has held storytelling workshops at the Littlehampton United Church’s 150th anniversary and at the Arise Breakfast, with the Arun Community Church, said: “This course is ideal for Sunday school teachers, family workers, preachers, vicars and any who loves a good story – all those who want to see stories lifted off the page and into people’s hearts.

“So many church leaders are commenting on how Bible stories are no longer known to many who visit a church.

“It’s a step-by-step introduction into world of forming stories with guidance in how to experiment with ideas.”

The event will take place at Wick Hall, in Wick Street, on Saturday, May 12, from 10am-4pm. Tickets cost £50 per person. Places are limited and booking is essential.
