Stunning art exhibition for 10th anniversary of Farley Arts Trust

In November the Farley Arts Trust is holding its 10th Anniversary Awards and Exhibition of stunning art works from sculpture, installations and textiles to painting and photography – and all created by students currently taking GCSE or A level art at schools in East Sussex.

On Sunday 17 November from 2 to 4pm this exhibition at Farleys Gallery in Chiddingly will be open for free public viewing. All are welcome and trustees, and possibly some of the students, will be there to meet and chat to visitors.

The Farley Arts Trust Awards and Exhibition is designed to showcase the exceptional, often deeply thoughtful and visually powerful, art produced by these young people. Through this project the Trust is giving the students an early experience of the professional art world beyond their schools.

Founding Trustee, Antony Penrose, who is the son of Lee Miller and Roland Penrose, has said about these biennial Awards ‘The selection of work in our first exhibition in 2006 set the pattern for all subsequent shows. The schools in the region have consistently shown that they have rich hoards of artistic talent and our purpose is to make that visible and celebrated.’
