Tag titles on the line in heavyweight bout in Worthing

Heavyweight kings Kris Kay and James Kenna will be going for wrestling gold at the Worthing Assembly Hall next week.

The K-men, one of the biggest partnerships in the grappling game, will be aiming to win the Premier Wrestling Federation tag team title when they top the bill on the first Wrestling Spectacular of the summer on Thursday, July 30.

Kay and Kenna, who between them weigh in at around the 40 stone mark, will have a huge size advantage over their rivals, the terror combination of “Hit Man” Jon Ryan and his aptly named sidekick Jimmy Havoc.

Ryan and Havoc, however, are guaranteed not to go down without a fight, especially as they set up next week’s showdown by accusing Kenna of being a cheat and throwing down the gauntlet when the two sides ran into each other back in March.

Ryan, who already holds the light-heavyweight title and is reputedly one of the ring’s most ruthless combatants, will be bidding to become only the second wrestler in PWF history to hold a singles championship and the tag team title at the same time.

Kay, the Southern Area champion, and Kenna are unbeaten since they teamed up two years ago and put down their latest marker by defeating Crusher Curtis and Karl Atlas on a recent Brighton show.

The UK’s No. 1-rated young wrestler Josh Faulkner clashes with Stingray Stevenson in the top supporting bout, while local favourites Barry Cooper and Charlie Checkmate are in action respectively against Colombian star Jorge Castano and Ian Logan.

The show starts at 7.45pm.
