Sporting Memories is a charity and social enterprise that helps older people to reminisce, replay and reconnect through the power of sport and physical activity.
Sporting Memories supports a wide range of people aged 50-plus, including those living with dementia, living with depression or facing isolation and loneliness to improve their mental and physical wellbeing through our weekly club sessions.

Hide AdThe Chichester Sporting Memories Club meets every Monday from 10:00 to 11:30 at Chichester City FC, Oaklands Way.
And it’s not just historical sport that’s discussed. There’s great interest in current sporting news: all levels of the football pyramid are dissected, with a particular focus on our hosts, Chichester City FC in their first season in the Isthmian League Division 1; there have been competitions for the Euros guessing who would be in the England squad, who would win it etc. Sussex Cricket are keenly followed, in fact all manner of sports are discussed – which is very useful when the weekly quizzes are tackled!
Sussex Cricket Foundation generously provide funding support and organise events for all the Clubs in the county: a day at the cricket (naturally!) at the County Ground, Hove, a day at the races and a Christmas Lunch complete with Christmas jumpers, singing and quizzes.
The Chichester Club also organised its own Par 3 golf competition down at Hunston; a childhood games morning, including Subbuteo, Escalado and Bagatelle! They have guest speakers and, for 2025, are looking to challenge our nearest club in Worthing to a ‘pub games’ morning!

Sporting Memories clubs are free to attend and open to anyone over the age of 50 who loves to reminisce about either playing or watching sport. The Chichester Club is looking for new members, so why not pop along one Monday and join in the fun.
