THE BOUNDLESS SEA

The sea, the sea, the boundless seaIf only you could speak to me

You've wandered round since time began

Who on earth can measure your span?

Where do you go in the evening mist?

How many faraway shores have you kissed?

How many meetings with distant beaches

Thrusting inland to hidden reaches.

What thrilling dramas and riddles you keep

Of treasures and galleons sunk in the deep

What fabled monsters exist 'neath your waves?

Hiding the secrets of submarine graves

If you could reveal half your secrets to me

What a book I could write of the tales of the sea.
