THE OLD DOG

The old dog looked up-deathBut a shadow away. For a brief moment he saw picturesFlash by of scenes of yesterdayWhen in his youth he used to run, gamble, play.Scenes of the many walks he had shared with hisMistress- good companions all the way.

Now his time was near, he knew she was there

Now was the greatest test of all- and the

Old dog knew she would not fail him

On what would be his last hour of his last day.

The old dog looked up

Stretched out in her arms

For the last time

And gently sailed away
