Actors needed for this Coward classic

The Stables Theatre is looking for two actors to complete the cast of a production of the Noel Coward classic Blithe Spirit, showing this August.

The play hinges on a love triangle between Charles Condomine, his wife Ruth and the ghost of his late wife, Elvira.

The show has been cast apart from the roles of Charles and Edith, the maid. Director Ian Morson said: “Charles is in is forties and an intelligent and urbane novelist, but he is somewhat at the mercy of his wives, past and present. It’s a significant and very rewarding role for the right actor. Edith is a smaller part but has lots of comic potential, She is nervous and tears around at breakneck speed trying to do things right and make a good impression. Though originally written for a younger actor, I am open to anyone who can take this part and make something of the comedic possibilities.”
