It’s based on the story of Cinderella - with a twist - and was written by greatly missed member the late Trevor Hughes.

Trevor, as well as being a founder member of Bright Lights, was well known in Bexhill’s amateur dramatic and art scene. For this reason, the company have chosen to dedicate this production to his memory.

Sue, Trevor’s wife feels it is a privilege to direct his work, knowing how proud he was of Pumpkins. Since 1986 it has been performed locally, but also by theatre companies in Kent, Sussex and around the country.

During rehearsals, his friends feel his presence in the script, hear his laughter, and groan at his jokes. It means so much, that in Trevor’s honour, several past members have returned to tread the boards again in this production.

The story centres around not only the Prince and Cinderella, but Buttons fancying Cinders, Bows fancying Buttons, Salmonella fancying her ‘gels’ chances at the Palace Ball. They are joined by a myriad of other comic characters - why not join them? Pumpkins and Palaces will be presented at Little Common Methodist Hall from Wednesday November 11 until Saturday November 14 at 7.45pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets are £7 - available from ‘Little Gem’ in Little Common (Tel 01424 843147)
