Classic drama in Manor gardens

Bexhill Amateur Theatrical Society is proud to announce its new summer open air production – Shakespeare’s thrilling story of lies, schemes, magic and murder – Macbeth!

Dean Middhat (pictured) plays the ambitious Scottish Lord, tricked by witches and encouraged by his wife to kill his way to the top.

The play shows his descent from trusted general to ruthless tyrant and why you should be careful what you wish for – because you just might get it

It is a strong cast of new faces and familiar favourites, in dazzling new costumes.

Presented in the beautiful formal gardens of The Manor Barn, in Bexhill’s Old Town , the play will be on from July 20-25 starting at 7.30pm each night. Tickets will be £12 and £5 for under 18s. They will soon be available from the website and from Destination, 52 Sackville Rd on 01424 225722.

Mike Poole of BATS said: “Why not come along and join the fun in the setting sun?

Many people bring a bottle of wine, a lovely picnic and a warm blanket – and turn it from a play into an evening to remember.

This is the best way to introduce children to Shakespeare – and Macbeth is probably the greatest stage thriller of all time.”
