“Lynn Andrews and I have been putting on Trinity Church Players pantomimes for 23 years and the group goes from strength to strength. About a third of our membership are regular worshippers at Holy Trinity, but we have an open membership, so anyone over the age of 15 can join us.

“Numerous people have been involved over the years, all contributing in whatever way they can. As well as a large cast, we’re lucky to have teams of writers who can tailor the pantos to our specific needs. Some of our younger members are a huge help getting into the loft to find costumes; other members use their technology skills to put together the programme and sound effects; others take the photographs. On the weekend before the panto, we all work together to build the stage and paint scenery from scratch.

“TCP are a really sociable group so we have lots of laughs while entertaining our local community and raising good sums for the church and charities. At Christmas, 30 of us went carol-singing round the local streets and in two hours raised £245 for Shooting Stars CHASE, the children’s hospice.

“Over the past 10 years, Trinity Church Players are proud to have raised over £21,000 for good causes.

“They tend to sell quickly and must be pre-booked. There will be a bar selling wine and soft drinks before each performance and at the interval. At the matinee light refreshments will also be on sale.”
