“This very funny play follows the lives of newly-weds Paul and Corrie Bratter as they adjust to married life in a tiny Greenwich Village apartment. Corrie is a starry-eyed, free spirit, whilst Paul is a buttoned-down lawyer, just starting out on his career and somewhat less than impressed by the five flights and the leaky skylight.

“This combination of character opposites would be a challenge for any marriage! The Bratters must also contend with their eccentric neighbour, Mr Velasco, who has to climb through their window to reach his own apartment, but when Corrie tries matchmaking between him and her lonely mother she discovers that what we plan and expect is not necessarily what actually happens.”

The play runs from September 21-25 at The Players’ Theatre, High Street, Hurstpierpoint.

Tickets are available from the festival booking office, Vanilla, at 40 High Street, Hurstpierpoint (tel 01273 835886) or by post using the booking form in the festival brochure.
