The show is at West Chiltington Village Hall from May 19-21.

The tale’s central character, Grace, is a clergy wife who has spent a lifetime on her best behaviour. Following the death of her husband Bardolph she enjoys a new found freedom to do and say as she pleases. The return of her missionary sister Ruth from Africa brings news that forces Grace to confront the truth about her marriage.

This play has a special significance to Julia as it may be the last time she is able to direct because she is gradually losing her central vision due to Macular Degeneration.

Julia said: “There are more than half a million people in the UK with this condition (including actress Judy Dench) so there is an urgent need for research. WCDS wish to make a donation to the Macular Society from the profits of this play – providing enough tickets are sold. So please do come and support us and help to fight this condition.”

Tickets are £8 from Nisa Local and the Post Office Stores in West Chiltington, or from The Card Shop in Storrington.

Performances start at 7.30pm and tickets will also be available at the door.
