‘Magical’ play wows Rustington crowds

THE fabled Yellow Brick Road helped schoolchildren in Rustington pave their way to a stunning end-of-year show, on Thursday (July 12).

Year-six pupils from the Summerlea Primary School, in Windsor Drive, transformed their hall into the magical world of Oz, stunning parents and teachers alike during a spellbinding performance of the Wizard of Oz.

Around 60 youngsters took part in the show, which was described by teachers at the school as “breathtaking” and one of the best productions Summerlea has ever seen.

Notable performances were also seen from Zoe Bridger, who played the Wicked Witch of the West, and Georgia Perry, who was Glinda, Sorceress of the North.

The show even included a cameo performance from Hamish Moore each night – a white West Highland terrier who played Dorothy’s dog, Toto.
