Plenty of Big Cheer at Brighton

Jenny Eclair, Jason Cook, Ian Moore, Justin Moorhouse and Simon Evans line up in the second The Big Cheer in Brighton.

Following the success of the first event in June 2010 which raised £22,000 for Amaze, the second Big Cheer hits the stage at Brighton Dome Concert Hall on March 1, from 8-10.30pm.

In association with Baby Cow Productions Limited (producers of Gavin and Stacey, The Mighty Boosh, Nighty Night and Saxondale), it promises a hilarious stand-up comedy event.

A spokesman said: “For one night only under one roof, our line-up is: compere Jason Cook; Perrier Award-winning Jenny Eclair; regular headliner at London’s famous Comedy Store Ian Moore; celebrated northern comic Justin Moorhouse; and local Radio 4 stalwart Simon Evans.”

Geordie compere Jason Cook jumped at the chance to play at the Dome.

He said “It’s nice to do something for a charity that directly helps people. I’m proud to be involved. Acts of kindness are in short supply, so some of us need to redress the global karmic balance. Or, if you are cynical, because you can write it off against tax.”

Amaze supports families with disabled children in Brighton and Hove.
