Shocking revelations in The Lonesome West at The Grove Theatre

The Lonesome West is at The Grove Theatre, Eastbourne Library, on Saturday, March 28 (7.30pm). Tickets start at £10 from www.groveeastbourne.com.

A spokesperson said: “It seemed an ideal posting for Father Welsh. The tiny Irish town of Leenane, where nothing ever happens… Two murders later, and he’s left fearing he made a bad decision. After the funeral of the father of the Connor brothers, he wonders if there’s more to the death than meets the eye. A series of shocking and hilarious revelations result in another tragic death in Leenane, but whose?

“This isn’t the award-winning White Cobra theatre group’s first foray into the works of McDonagh, having successfully toured The Beauty Queen of Leenane across the UK in 2019.

“White Cobra perform a wide variety of shows from drama to musicals, including recent tours of The Graduate and Twelfth Night. Hailing from Northamptonshire, the group tours the UK and Ireland with multiple productions each year.

“The cast includes Fraser Haines (Twelfth Night, The Graduate) as Coleman, White Cobra co-founder Richard Jordan (Twelfth Night, The Beauty Queen of Leenane) as Valene, Ben Stanton (The Graduate, Little Shop of Horrors) as Father Welsh and Victoria Miles (Glorious!, Hi-de-Hi) as Girleen.”
