Top line-up for the eighth blues festival

Crawley Blues Festival returns to the Hawth on Saturday, October 26 with two sessions of the best blues around.

Spokesman Steve Crane said: “This year marks the eighth Crawley Blues festival, which is now firmly bookmarked for the last Saturday in October as part of Black History month.”

Crawley Blues club founded in 1997 is synonymous with The Hawth.

Steve added: “The Blues Festival brings together of many blues styles: country, slide, fingerpicking and ragtime to name but a few, featuring the best in electro-acoustic music in a small, intimate setting.

“This year’s line-up has something for everyone. The afternoon performance starts from 2pm and includes Red Butler, a local band with a great future, a return for popular band Rag Mama Rag and the afternoon section ends with a rare solo performance from Ian Siegal, who is a multi award-winning performer and one of the hottest blues properties in Europe.

“The evening performance starts from 7pm and begins with a British blues treasure in the form of a firm favourite Sonny Black, Sonny is joined by Richard Sadler on bass and John Hedgecock on fiddle/mandolin/banjo. There is a rare performance of blues pioneer and veteran Dave Kelly from The Blues Band and completing the line up is Giles Hedley & the Aviators joined by legendary French guitarist and composer Christophe Pélissié.”
