Aifric Campbell (pictured) will be chatting about her page-turner ‘On The Floor’ - an insider’s tale of making money, taking risks, and banker burn-out.

The central character, Geri Molloy, has made her name by catching the firm’s biggest client but while she may look successful, she is grappling demons that threaten to tip her into a breakdown.

Aifric knows her subject. She made the switch from banker to novelist after working for Morgan Stanley in the 1980s and 1990s, becoming the first female managing director on the trading floor.

She says working very hard in a male-dominated environment provided her with the stamina she needed to become a successful novelist!

The other star guest at the book club is Daisy Waugh, a Sunday Times columnist and author.

As the second daughter of writer and journalist Auberon Waugh and grand-daughter of Evelyn Waugh, Daisy has writing in her genes.

Her latest book, ‘Melting The Snow on Hester Street’, is set in the golden age of Hollywood, a time when money was built on greed.

Melting the Snow is a tale of glamour, romance, scandal and decadence that follows a high-society couple, actor and actress Maximilian and Eleanor Beecham, who rub shoulders with the likes of Charlie Chaplin and Greta Garbo.

Aifric and Daisy will read extracts from their novels and provide some insider knowledge on how to write a best-seller.

Behind The Book Lovers’ Supper Club are two writers who share a passion for both food and books: Melanie Whitehouse, who lives in Ditchling and Laura Lockington, an author based in Brighton.
