Helen Green, who has been running her new salon from her home in Glendale Close since May, has said she has ‘no regrets’ since leaving the pharmaceuticals industry.

“It’s made me much happier, it’s something I really enjoy and I’m working for myself as well,” explained the 31-year-old, who graduated from Brighton University with a Bsc (Hons) Biological Science degree.

“It’s great, it’s more flexible and I can work around my son. It gives me more opportunities to spend time with him but also be at home with clients so it’s great,” she said.

After starting out her working life at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and then Pfizer as a medical sales representative, Helen re-trained in beauty when the opportunity came up to take redundancy pay.

This then led her to opening her salon Beau-Belle Beauty, which means beauty for men and women in French as well as English, and is a name initially inspired by her Chihuahua cross puppy, Bella.

“I was going to call it Bella Beauty but that name had already gone,” she explained.

“I’m always going into town giving out leaflets to people and everybody loves her, so she features quite highly in my business.”

Offering treatments from eyelash extensions to shellac nails, Helen believes being based at home not only has benefitted her but also has advantages for her customers.

“Being at home you get a much more individual experience,” she said. “Free parking straight outside, free Wi-Fi, private location and no need to walk through the town after treatments such as waxing which could leave your skin a little red.”

To contact Helen call 07885244769 or email [email protected]. Her website www.beau-bellebeauty.com is currently under construction but you can find her business on Facebook.
