The fete, in aid of the school, basked in glorious sunshine between 12 noon and 3pm at Plaistow Village Green.

Visitors enjoyed various stalls, a grand raffle, dog show, children’s entertainment, a giant slide, barbecue, cakes, cream teas, beer and pimms and not forgetting the 75-year old maypole which has a base made out of a door.

Ex bond girl Serena Gordon also made an appearance to judge the fancy dress competition.
