VIDEO: Roller coaster fun for schoolchildren

Lessons took an exciting turn for one group of Crawley schoolchildren when they joined their teachers on a roller coaster simulator.

More than 400 pupils went on the theme park ride in St Margaret’s CofE Primary School this morning (Wednesday January 8).

During lessons, pupils will be encouraged to come up with their own designs for theme park rides and write about their experience.

Linda Hummerston, assistant head, who organised the project, said: “They’ve been bursting with giggles, it’s lovely to see.

“The project’s for fun, enjoyment and inspirational writing.”

After the ride, Ella Stone, 7, said: “It was very fun. I’m most looking forward to writing about this.”

Linda and other nervous teachers shared the simulated experience with their classes.

The schoolchildren will work in mixed-age classes for the project.

They voted for the project’s theme.
