VIDEO UPDATE: Man airlifted to hospital with serious foot injuries after Horsham Hospital collision

A man has been airlifted to hospital after suffering a serious foot injury in a collision in Horsham Hospital car park this morning (Thursday March 20), say police.

Emergency services were called to Hurst Road in Horsham at around 10.45am.

A spokesperson for Horsham police said a car was involved in a collision with a pedestrian in the car park.

The driver, a man in his 80s, suffered an injury to his foot.

An air ambulance landed on playing fields at neighbouring Collyer’s college.

Firefighters worked to free the driver from the car before he was placed on a stretcher and taken to the helicopter.

He has been airlifted to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

There are no reports of injury to the pedestrian.

A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue said the incident was reported as a collision between a car and a road bollard.

The car park is currently closed to traffic.
