The short film that will star Holby City and Harry Potter star, Guy Henry, will be directed by former Steyning Grammar School pupil and County Times contributor Adam Stephen Kelly.

The amateur writer and director has assembled an impressive cast and crew to film the three minute short, but needs to raise £7,750 to make it a reality.

“It’s an ambitious target but I want to make it look as good as it can be,” Adam said. “This is the first thing I will ever direct and a real dream project.”

Set in a beautiful country manor that will be shot on location in Cardiff, ‘Done In’ is a dark drama about a man writing a suicide note to say goodbye to the world as he recollects moments in his life.

This may appear to be a straight-forward formula, but Adam promises a ‘shocking’ surprise in the mix with the help of his talented production team.

This includes cinematographer Sara Deane who recently worked on ‘Captain Phillips’ starring Tom Hanks, and producer S J Evans who has directed several horror films including the upcoming ‘The City of the Dead’.

“He’s a BAFTA member whose film I reviewed once. He got in touch to thank me and we’ve been meaning to work on a film together ever since.”

Growing up in Storrington, the entertainment journalist was an avid Steven Spielberg and Quentin Tarantino fan.

In order to follow in the footsteps of his idols, Adam has created a campaign on Sponsume, a website where potential investors can bid money to fund the project.

“It all rests on the campaign. I will be devastated if we don’t get the money, but I won’t give up.”
