Friends, families and athletes gathered at the Lower Beeding venue for the Set4Success awards on Friday, June 21, to see 21 awards given for events ranging from hockey to gymnastics.

Children’s television presenter and Set4Success patron Dave Benson-Phillips compered the ceremony. He said:“It’s a great thing to recognise, but it’s an even greater thing to encourage children to pursue the world of sport and it makes me feel glad to be a part of it.”

Set up by the Rotary Club of Horsham and Horsham District Council in association with local schools and business, it aims to encourage those with national or international sporting ambition.

John Le Rossignol, treasurer of Horsham Rotary added: “Set4Success, which we started three years ago, is one of the few things in Sussex that actually recognises the sporting talent of young people and we hope what we do in terms of not only giving them money, but giving them an awards ceremony, really encourages these youngsters to drive themselves forward and one day be stars of the future and make their dreams come true.”
