The Coal Porters, the UK’s first and finest ‘alt-bluegrass act’ will be touring this autumn and bring their exciting acoustic musical virtuosity to The Stade Open Space, Hastings Old Town, on Saturday September 26

The gig starts at 7.30pm. Admission is free.

This is the last British tour behind their well-received album, Find The One, the sixth and finest album from ex-Long Ryder Sid Griffin’s stellar new act. The album shows the Coal Porters expanding their palette as they take acoustic folk and bluegrass into previously uncharted waters.

Find The One features five new Sid Songs, an campfire cover of David Bowie’s classic Heroes, a guest appearance by ex-Fairport Convention guitar hero Richard Thompson, three new songs from guitarist Neil Robert Herd, a two-part instrumental collaboration from the band’s virtuosos: fiddler Kerenza Peacock and banjo man Paul Fitzgerald, as well as the first ever appearance of BBC radio legend Brian Matthew on an alt-country recording... To say nothing of a sitar and fiddle battle on the Rolling Stones’ immortal Paint It Black.

The Coal Porters’ dynamic show has been wowing audiences up and down the country with its dynamic instrumental virtuosity and impressive three and four part vocal harmonies and an exciting blend of original songs and traditional favourites from bluegrass, country and rock music.
