Vocal workshop

The Sussex Harmonisers are offering a free one-day workshop on Saturday, September 14 for men who used to sing or those who have always wanted to but have never found the time or courage.

The course will be held at St Paul’s College in Burgess Hill, between 10am and 4pm. Book a place by calling Brian on 01273 553102 or Mike on 01444 412491.

The Harmonisers’ Chorus director David Ellwood said it was aimed at those who would like to sing but don’t know how to start or those who haven’t sung for years and would like to get their vocal chords back into action. It would also appeal to regular singers who have never tried the unique four-part, close-harmony style, he promised.

“Many men would love to sing but just don’t get around to it, or feel too self-conscious. The simple fact is that just about everyone can sing. Men of all ages are welcome and no experience is necessary. By the end of the day you will have learnt and sung a song in four-part harmony. And it is a known fact that singing increases the level of endorphins in the brain, and that makes you feel good!”
