Discovering Sussex (Inquiries 01903 813381/01342 315786)

Sunday August 18, 10am: Meet at ‘The Mens’ car park just off the A272, 2 miles SW of Wisborough Green (GR TQ 024237). Dieppe Remembered. Out through Hawkhurst Court – from where the ill-fated Raid on Dieppe (on August 19, 1942) was planned – to Brinkwells Cottage once the home of composer Edward Elgar. It was here that he wrote his violin Sonata, the Piano quintet and the String Quartet.

All together now . . . A mostly woodland walk which we hope will have dried out by August! 6½ miles. Leaders: Keith McKenna and Sally Dench, Footprints of Sussex.
