FAYRE: Crawley Down Residents Association’s 38th Annual Village Fayre will take place on Crawley Down Village Green from 2 to 5pm. The afternoon will be filled with music, dance, Punch and Judy, vintage cars, charity stalls, raffle and more. From 5pm onwards festivities, hosted by Landlords Eddie and Jo Reed, will continue outside the Royal Oak public house with a street party. Station Road will be closed to through traffic from 4pm.

Jumble Sale, Plumpton Village Hall, 2pm to 4pm. Refreshments, tombola, cakes and lots of bargains. Raising funds for the new Pavilion and Play Park in the village.

PRODUCE: The SHS Late Summer Show has classes for fruit and vegetables, cookery and preserves, flowers and a large section for children’s entries too. Village Hall, Church Lane, Southwater. Family pond dipping at Warnham Local Nature Reserve, Warnham Road (B2237), Horsham, RH12 2RA. 10.30am to 4pm at the dipping ponds. An opportunity to investigate the life that lives on and under the water at the dipping ponds. All equipment will be provided (nets, containers, magnifiers, microscope). Normal entry to the Reserve (£1.50 adults, under 16s free but must be accompanied by an adult).

SUNDAY

Cats Homing Show: Cats Protection Horsham & District Branch will be holding a Homing Show at Broadbridge Heath Village Centre, Wickhurst Lane from 11am – 2pm. Why not come along and meet the cats looking for new homes? Our fosterers know all about their characters so we can find the most suitable match for you. Refreshments will be available, plus CP goods and cards will be on sale. Entry is free but donations (including cat food and litter) will be warmly received.

CHURCH: St. Mary’s birthday party, St Mary’s Church, The Causeway, Horsham. Otherwise known as our patronal festival, this the day that we celebrate the Virgin Mary’s birth. We are having a special birthday party service at 9.30am. After the service there will be a children’s entertainer, traditional party food and games. We welcome all to join us. ARTS: Steyning Decorative and Fine Arts Society: September meeting at The Steyning Centre by Fletchers Croft Car Park opposite St Andrews Church, Church Street, Steyning, at 10.30am. Chloe Sayer will speak on ‘Peru – the Incas and their predecessors as seen through art and textiles’. Visitors are welcome to this session with coffee at 10am followed by meeting 10.30-noon. RUNNING: New Runners Club meets  10.30 am to 12.30 pm on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at the Horsham Unitarian Church Hall, Worthing Road, Horsham (opposite the bus station). Walk: Meet 10.30am at the Bandstand in the Carfax. 1½ mile flat walk on hard-surfaced paths around the Park.
