Hundreds of witches, wizards and warlocks are expected to fly in to Tulleys Shocktober Fest Scream Park near Crawley on Saturday (October 1) as the iconic Hallowe'en attraction opens its gates to the underworld for another season.

Stuart Beare, from Tulleys Shocktober Fest Scream Park, said: “The event has gone from strength to strength every year and is now the biggest of its kind anywhere in the UK and one of the biggest in Europe.

“One of the new attractions in this year’s line-up of haunts is The Coven of 13. It is based on a story centred around an old 17th century witch’s tale which is guaranteed to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

“We thought an attempt to set a new world record for a gathering of not just witches, but warlocks and wizards too would be an exciting way to launch the new attraction.”

Visitors to the launch night on Saturday are being encouraged to come dressed as a witch or warlock, including a black witch’s hat and broomstick.

Stuart added: “Although there is an established world record for witches, there is not one for witches and warlocks combined so we will be establishing a new record.”

Tulleys Shocktober Fest Scream Park is open selected nights from October 1 to 31.
