World Music for Syria at Gecko Bar

Next Saturday, June 20, sees an evening of live music from around the globe, including Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the charity Syria relief, which supports those affected by the crisis.

Acts include The Moors, whose repertoire includes Balkan music, klezmer, mediaeval Sephardic melodies, Cuban rhythms and folk-rock; Vocal Explosion, a world music choir known for the power of its live performances, Middle Eastern folk quartet Oudolin, and Han’Song which features Lee Buchanan and Chris Sylla playing Hang and Kora. Live music from 7pm following which DJ Remi Vibesman will be playing global sounds. Entry is £6 (over 18s only) and tickets available in advance from Kassa Coffee, Grand Parade; The Crown, All Saints Street; Book Buster, Queens Road; or on the door.
