Accolade for social housing landlord

A SOCIAL housing landlord from Crawley has landed a national award for his work in helping reduce council reliance on other forms of accommodation for local disadvantaged people.

Rohit Nathaniel, managing director of property-services company Seraphim, received the accolade for his work in providing quality accommodation for the often marginalised, while also offering tenants support and helping them address their issues.

He picked up the award for Best Portfolio Landlord of the Year with 20 plus Properties from the United Kingdom Landlord Accreditation Partnership (UKLAP) and London Landlord Accreditation Scheme (LLAS) at a ceremony held in Marble Arch London earlier this month.

Mr Nathaniel said: “This inaugural award gives great kudos to me and my staff as Seraphim continues to work in partnership with local authorities and private landlords to reduce homelessness in Sussex and Surrey.”

“Renting to and sourcing of new tenants can often be difficult and traumatic. It is our business to remove these concerns from landlords by implementing our tried and tested practices; we treat their investment as if it was our own.”

Seraphim has been working in partnership with Crawley Borough Council and other local authorities in the Gatwick Diamond to address the demand for temporary social housing.

UKLAP comprises local authorities, landlord organisations, tenant and consumer groups and others with an interest in the private rented sector. It numbers more than 10,000 landlords and 54 councils across the UK.
