The manufacturing firm is expanding from its Westhampnett factory with the new building in Shripney, located on the Oldlands Farm Business Park just outside Bognor Regis.

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, chief executive officer, said: “The construction of our technology and logistics centre is well under way and on track.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars makes a significant positive impact on the local economy and our business is a British luxury manufacturing success.”

The new 30,000sqm facility will provide logistics support to the company’s manufacturing plant and head office at Westhampnett for current and future models.

It will also consolidate three current operations: an inbound warehouse for production parts, a distribution centre – including an inbound body
store and finished car store – and a workshop.

The company described the new plant development as ‘putting the Regis back into Bognor Regis’.

The Rolls-Royce technology and logistics centre was identified as Arun District Council as part of its Enterprise Bognor Regis initiative.

Rolls-Royce recently announced the company would produce a new drophead tourer model in 2016 and when prime minister David Cameron visited the Westhampnett base recently, it also confirmed development of new type of all-terrain vehicle.

To mark the rapid construction of the new facility, a Royce Wraith drove on to the construction site this week, marking the first time one of the manufacturer’s motor cars had been present at the new facility.
