The Bracklesham Lane shop is set to shut its doors on March 9 at 5.30pm and re-open on March 17 at 1pm.

Post Office Services will be provided from a new, low-screened, Post Office service point, located at the end of the retail till.

Services will be available throughout the shop’s opening hours: Monday to Saturday: 6am–7.30pm; Sunday: 7am–7.30pm.

This is an extra 47 hours and 30 minutes a week, including Sunday morning and Saturday afternoon.

The Post Office said the branch will open significantly earlier and close later and the doubling of Post Office opening hours will make it more convenient for customers to visit.

This will be a “local plus” style branch with enhanced local services including manual banking (non-barcoded transactions), Transcash, and Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide International parcels.

Payment by cheque will still be accepted.

Adrian Skinner, Post Office area manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

“We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.
