On Friday (November 20) Nick Gibb MP was invited to Littlehampton Morrisons by the supermarket's community champion, Alison Whitburn, where he thanked staff for their work and commitment during the pandemic.

Alison’s role is to work on local community projects in the town on behalf of Morrisons; projects such as Littlehampton Community Fridge. She also helps to coordinate doorstep deliveries to those who struggle to get to the store.

"We mustn’t forget that every supermarket is staffed by dedicated people who keep going to work, helping customers and keeping the supply chain operating even at times when the infection rate was at its highest.

“Today was an opportunity for me, on behalf of everyone in Littlehampton and Bognor Regis, to say thank you to all those who work in our supermarkets and grocery stores.

"Without you the country simply could not have survived. Thank you for your commitment and professionalism which has ensured the supplies keep on coming even during the darkest hours of this terrible crisis.

"And thank you for all you do to support local charities and voluntary bodies in our area, helping to keep the community thriving.”
