Nick Marshall, from William Hardwicke pub in Bognor, said: “We are excited to be opening up once again in just a few short months.

“The William Hardwicke has undergone a complete refurbishment during this lockdown and we’re itching to show it off.

"This of course includes a much improved and enlarged garden which, all things being well, we look forward to opening in April. There will certainly be a party or two once we are allowed.”

Nightclubs will not be able to open until June 21, at the earliest, but excitement is already building in the town.

Crawford Winkworth, marketing and events manager for Sheiks nightclub and Legends Bar, said everyone at Bognor Pier is ‘delighted with this week’s announcement’.

He added: “We can’t wait to get going again and welcome everyone back. The management team are looking forward to getting back together to work on plans for the big re-opening.”

We would love to hear from more pubs, restaurants and other businesses in Bognor, following the latest government announcements.
