Tonics Hair in South Street has been named one of the UK’s best customer focused teams after securing a finalist place in HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards 2020.

Even though they weren’t able to physically see their clients during lockdown, this didn’t prevent UK salons from supporting their customers in many creative and unique ways.

The Customer Service award, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional, recognises salons that create an outstanding customer journey.

Tonics Hair earned this top industry badge of honour thanks to its brilliant way of meeting client needs, evaluating working methods and crafting an amazing customer experience prior to and during lockdown, the salon said.

HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards, now in its 22nd year, promote professionalism, innovation and excellence, while recognising those individuals and teams who work tirelessly to raise the profile of the hairdressing industry and make it attractive to new entrants while keeping it at the forefront of the mind of the consumer.

Tonics Hair owner, Marcos Garcia said: “Our whole team is delighted to be nominated.

“It has been a tough year, but our clients are our priority. Although we haven’t been able to see them as much, we have tried to continue the high level of customer service they expect, just in a different way.

“The key is to never become complacent and never too proud to take on feedback, to adapt and review processes so that they are up-to-date with what our customers need and value. This award is a complete team effort.”

Jayne Lewis-Orr, executive director of the British Hairdressing Business Awards added: “It’s been a difficult year but one that has given salons the opportunity to really showcase how incredible their customer service is – adapting to the ‘new normal’ and thinking outside the box to make sure clients are cared for.

“To be named as a finalist in the customer service award category confirms just how exceptional Tonics Hair is.

“They have excelled at maintaining ongoing client relationships and created a fantastic reputation in their region. I wish the whole team the very best of luck.”

Tonics Hair will find out if they have achieved the top spot at an awards evening on Monday January 25 at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

Julian Crane, general manager of Schwarzkopf Professional, UK and Ireland said: “Receiving a finalist place is a phenomenal feat. It’s credit to the salon management and how they train their team.

“Tonics Hair is one of Britain’s stand out salons receiving excellent customer feedback. They are a great example of a hugely successful high street business.”
