At 6pm, the mayor of Littlehampton David Chace will count down to the big switch on, followed by a Christmas quiz hosted by councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper, LED lighting and fire performances from Poi Passion and finally storytime hosted by West Sussex Libraries.
During the festive period, children can win a prize from Bah Humbug Sweets in Anchor Springs by finding Santa’s reindeer hidden in town centre shop windows.
Starting from Tuesday, December 1, the town council’s Facebook page will feature an online advent calendar, with 12 prizes from local businesses, and Christmas activity ideas and how-to videos including a baking demonstration.

From December 3, under 16’s can pick up a free Christmas card pack from Crafters Corner in Clifton Road, containing materials to make two cards to be entered into their fantastic competition.
Children aged five to 15 years of age can also show their creativity by entering the Pier Road Coffee and Art Christmas Competition.
The winners will have their work exhibited in one of their galleries in January.

Chairman of Littlehampton Town Council’s Community Resources Committee, Billy Blanchard-Cooper, said: “It is sad that we can’t all be in the High Street to soak up the Christmas spirit and share special festive memories.
“However, with the fabulous support of local businesses and organisations we have put together a programme that you will hopefully enjoy.
“Make sure you join me for the special online quiz.”
