Sit & Sip Tasting Room is set to open its doors in Piries Place ‘as soon as Government Covid-19 restrictions allow.’

Sit & Sip are a collection of boutique lounge bars with bottle shops that, they say, ‘combine the style and class of the city with the comfort and warmth of your local.’

The new bar will specialise in craft and artisan products.

A spokesman said: “Sit & Sip will be serving up delicious craft beers from local brewers, as well as artisan spirits from small batch producers, which can all be enjoyed with charcuterie boards featuring a selection of different meats and cheeses, many of which are sourced locally by West Sussex producers.”

New general manager is Megan Tebbutt who said: “Our brand-new Tasting Room offers something for everyone.

“We’ve created an experience for the customer that is a little different by offering a quality range of different craft and artisan products that you can’t get elsewhere.

“Our ethos is to bring in products that are top quality, taste great and that put small batch and non-mainstream producers in the spotlight.”

Local suppliers will include Cabin Pressure Spirits, which is based in Horsham, and Brolly Brewing, based in Wisborough Green.

Megan added: “At Sit & Sip our Tasting Rooms are all about the relaxed comfortable environment, top quality products, great people and good times.

“Our Tapsters will always be on hand to help and guide customers with their drink choices. You can pick a pint or glass of your choice or go for a beer paddle to try the many different beers on offer. Our fabulous gin flights are also not to be missed.”

However, it’s not all about beer and spirits as the Tasting Room will open from 10am to serve a range of specialist hot drinks, such as craft coffees, loose leaf teas, naughty lattes with locally sourced cakes and pastries.

Megan said: “We have partnered with TrueStart coffee, a small batch coffee producer, to provide an innovative funky craft coffee offering along with Truffles Bakery to bring scrumptious handmade cakes and pastries.

“We are a relaxed venue that has fantastic facilities that caters for everyone, including welcoming four-legged friends too, with the bar serving special doggy treats.

“We are feeling extremely fortunate to be in a position to open in 2021 as we know only too well the impact and strains the hospitality industry has suffered from the coronavirus pandemic.

“We can’t wait to open our doors to greet customers as soon as lockdown rules are eased, fingers crossed that’s not too far away.”
